Another one bites the dust - Homebase Watford to close

The Homebase store in Watford is closing down, with the premises set to become The Range.

Homebase in St Albans Road will shut on a date yet to be confirmed following a "consultation with colleagues". The store is looking to find other job opportunities for its current staff.

Adam Manning, spokesman for Homebase, said: "Following a period of consultation with colleagues, we have announced that the Homebase store in St Albans Road, Watford will close, with a date yet to be confirmed.

"The store lease is transferring to retailer The Range subject to planning and landlord consents, who will invite all Homebase Watford colleagues for an interview to work in their new store.

"Where possible we will also look for opportunities for colleagues at nearby Homebase and Argos stores."
