Amazon Launches New AR Feature To Improve Online Furniture Shopping Experience
From today, Amazon Showroom offers customers a new experience in online furniture shopping. Amazon Showroom is a virtual living room where customers can select wall paints and floor coverings according to their preferences and decorate it individually with interior accessories and furniture.
Customers can choose from a variety of products such as floor lamps, armchairs and sofas, wall art, rugs as well as side and coffee tables in different styles. Use this tool for inspiration, share it with family and friends or simply save the design as a draft for later purchase decisions. Amazon Showroom is available for all customers at Amazon.co.uk/showroom.
An easy and simple mechanic: just click on the walls and customers can personalise the wall and floor colour according to their own preferences. By clicking on an item in the showroom, customers have three options: to display product details, to replace the product or to show a list of all items in the room. Items selected in the room can then be selected individually or alternatively as a product group that will go straight into the shopping cart.
Amazon Showroom complements the existing shopping features, Discover and AR View. With Amazon Discover, customers receive recommendations for the perfect furniture, which they can customise by liking or disliking images of products through a click or a tap on “thumbs up” or “thumbs down”. With Amazon AR View, they can project and position a three-dimensional image of the selected piece of furniture on their own four walls via smartphone.
