250th store milestone for Screwfix

Kingfisher PLC has published the following press release in relation to the opening of the 250th Screwfix store:

Screwfix, the UK’s multi-channel supplier of tools, plumbing and electrical equipment, is celebrating after marking another fantastic milestone for the brand, the launch of its 250th store.

The 250th store opened its doors in Poole at the end of September, further extending the brand’s growing UK network of stores. The new store is the second to open in Poole, has brought 18 jobs to the town, and will ensure that tradesmen have access to more than 11,000 tools, accessories and hardware products at their fingertips.

Screwfix Marketing Director, John Mewett, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating another fantastic milestone for Screwfix and further shaping our presence around the UK. We look forward to continuing our rapid expansion programme and helping to make the brand even more accessible to tradesmen and DIY enthusiasts across the nation.”

The milestone follows a number of other exciting developments for the Screwfix brand, including the successful launch of its Click & Collect service - which enables customers to check that the products they require are in stock online or on their mobile, and then collect just five minutes later from their local branch - and the release of a new-format catalogue, which is free for all customers and now available to download as an iPhone, iPad or android app.
