2022 Retail Job Losses Exceed 18,000
The Centre for Retail Research has published data pertaining to retail job losses and store closures to the end of May 2022.
The update follows the organisation's March 2022 update, covering the first two months of the year, and the 2021 summary, published in January 2022 and since updated, which revealed that 2021 retail job losses reached 105,727, with store closures of 11,459.
To the end of May 2022, a total of 1,101 stores have closed with job losses reaching 18,271.
