Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) - July 2016 Release

The decision in June for Britain to leave the EU has resulted in a dramatic deterioration in economic activity, not seen since the weeks following the global financial crisis.

IHS Markit's Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) was released on 22nd July 2016 and shows a dramatic fall to 47.7 in July, the lowest level since April in 2009. Any reading on the index which is below 50 indicates market contraction.
